    Kazuba™ Technology

    Principal system design

Both the Kazuba™ and the Kaab™ Kazuba™ systems are classed as desiccating (drying/evaporating) toilets.

These systems harness the power of the sun and the wind to provide an efficient and hygienic, completely self-contained, zero-discharge system.

Liquids are separated from solids, and the system is aerated to evaporate urine and dry the solids, causing them to reduce in volume significantly.

Desiccating systems don't use bulking agents, which maximizes capacity and reduces maintenance and on-going costs.

Evaporation and aeration are achieved by a combination of passive ventilation and thermal currents and solar gains.

Wind rotates the wind-driven vent atop the thermal chimney, drawing air up the vent stack and extracting air out of the toilet room.

Fresh air is drawn through the toilet pedestal, ensuring the facility remain odourless.

The design of the thermal chimney facilitates solar-thermal gains and accelerates air extraction.

    Advanced features

Desiccating systems are location and climate dependent, performing best in areas with high solar index and strong winds.

For areas that are colder/less open to the sun/have low winds, Kazuba™ systems can be equipped with fan-forced ventilation and a temperature compensating system to meet your needs.

A WCTNZ® consult will determine whether these features will be necessary in your application.

    Permanent systems & Re-locatable systems

Kazuba™ offers systems for both permanent installation and for portable use and re-location.

Permanently installed systems—Kazuba™ STK systems and KL-series buildings are installed as permanent facilities. The tank is installed in the ground—into a flat concrete slab, anchoring the system and allowing for easy access at ground level, thus eliminating the need for access ramps.

Re-locatable systems—Kaab™ Kazuba™ Bumper systems are portable and easily re-locatable with a fork-lift or crane. These systems are placed on-ground, so the floor is slightly raised—accessibility ramps are available.

Where can you go with a Kazuba™?

Kazuba™ dry toilet facilities are well suited to remote areas, eco-concious entities and sensitive environments that cannot receive effluent discharge.

Kazuba™ systems make great toilet facilities in both commercial and public applications, spanning businesses and organizations such as golf courses, wedding venues, zoos, adventure tourism sites, campgrounds, carparks, beaches, nature reserves, hiking trails, vineyards, farms, council facilities, and more.

The Kazuba™ STK and KL-series systems are great for permanent on-site toilets, while the re-locatable Kaab™ Kazuba™ Bumper can be used to accommodate numerous events in varying locations throughout the year—simply pick it up and place it where need be.

Note: for council applications, the Kaab™ Kazuba™ Bumper is best deployed as a set of systems that can be relocated to varying events throughout the year and areas with shifting seasonal traffic.
