Preparing the Solids Chamber

Before you start using your Trelino® composting toilet, you need to prepare the solids chamber by lining it with a layer bulking agent.

Lift the solids chamber out of the housing, line it with a compostable bag, put a 50mm layer of bulking agent across the bottom, and return the chamber into the housing. Your Trelino® composting toilet is now ready for use.

Recommended Bulking Agent

Trelino® Urine Diversion to Container systems perform best with a fine, slightly damp bulking agent.

Coco peat is the top choice thanks to its fine consistency and excellent moisture-absorbing qualities.

To prepare your coco peat for use in the Trelino®, moisten the coco peat brick with water, allow it to expand, then separate into loose fibers.
